International Day of Peace

21 September International Day of Peace: Did you know?

The International Day of Peace was established by a United Nations resolution in 1981 and was first celebrated in September 1982. In 2002 the General Assembly officially declared September 21 as the permanent date for the International Day of Peace.

The International Day of Peace seems to be the best kept secret of the United Nations. The vast majority of the world is not aware of this special day.  A measurable goal of MasterPeace is to raise awareness for this yearly and potentially unifying day. A successful International Day of Peace can provide more documentaries, songs, events, peace building initiatives et cetera worldwide, to support peace in general and related organizations and messages in particular. For this reason we started officially on the International Day of Peace 2011 and will end our first three years of campaigning on this day. We will ask our MasterPeace Clubs in 50 countries to develop activities on the International Day of Peace in 2012, 2013 and 2014 too.

MasterPeace wants to make the International Day of Peace internationally known and top of mind.

To make the “2014 dream” come true we need you to get involved too. We provide you with several possible actions. Through each action you can earn an invitation for the MasterPeace Concert.
