MasterPeace around the world: Uganda

MASTERPEACE AROUND THE WORLD UGANDA cover

With #MasterPeace_Around_The_World we focus on the people behind our 45+ MasterPeace clubs. We built on their ideas, hard work, and creativity and would like to share their stories with you.

Today we would like to feature our MasterPeace club in Uganda for one of their many creative initiatives: The Nelson of the Month award. Local changemakers are key in bringing our world forward and the MasterPeace club in Uganda decided to feature those who contribute their lives to helping others. The award was initiated in January 2018 and at the end of this year one of the nominated changemakers will be awarded with the national Nelson Award of Uganda!

Although the program is just a few months old, it already positively influenced the lives of its nominees. In February Joy M. Natocho was elected as Nelson of the Month and since than her life has been in a constant rollercoaster. Not only was she invited to give a presentation at the UNDP in Uganda, she was also offered a job at the Empowered Civil Organization (CEO), bringing her dream to start her own non-governmental organization a step closer.

With this project MasterPeace Uganda found a beautiful way to incorporate the global ‘’Be a Nelson’’ campaign of MasterPeace on a local level. We call people around to world to involve in much more than just donating money, as we all have talents that can be useful to our local communities. We believe that this project will highly influence others to contribute positively to their community and that is exactly what we aim on doing. We wish MasterPeace Uganda, the nominees, and all the Nelson’s of the upcoming months the best of luck!
